What We Ate On Easter Sunday

Clockwise from upper left: Marion Cunningham’s Featherbed Eggs for brunch with chicken apple sausage and strawberries.  This time I made the dish with a heartier country type bread.  I love that you put this together the night before, so in the morning all you have to do is put it in the oven.  Then make yourself a mimosa and relax.  Good the next morning too! My friend Camille’s Meyer Lemon Pound Cake (recipe here courtesy of Amber Simpkins) – flawless in taste, texture and appearance. Camille’s tip:  skip the boiled lemon slices and their brew called for in the recipe.  She made a test run of the recipe and found that they didn’t work for her. […]

Marion Cunningham’s Buttermilk Pancakes for Friends

I really admire Marion Cunningham – her writing and thoughts about cooking at home for family and friends, her recipes, the way she reinvented herself in the middle of her life. Throughout the 90′s and into the early 2000′s, I collected her columns from the San Francisco Chronicle food section.
