So Long Uncle Bob

August 26, 2010 by mymateriallife

When I returned from our trip last week, I found out that my Uncle Bob had passed away at the age of 86 on August 18.  That’s a snapshot of him from 1970 during a visit to our house in Westlake.  It’s the only photo I have of him that even begins to convey his sense of humor which was enormous!  We all adored Bob.  Such good times we had! Happy Birthday Celia

June 12, 2010 by mymateriallife

Missing Darlene

May 2, 2010 by mymateriallife

Today would have been my mother-in-law Darlene’s eighty-second birthday.  She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 27th of last year.  It’s caught me off guard, how much I miss her.  I don’t think she particularly cared for me when we met back in the mid-eighties.  I was taking the attention of her baby, the last of her six sons.  And she wasn’t the warm and nurturing kind of mother I was used to.  I didn’t produce any grandchildren until […]
